Our mission is to protect the health of all Jefferson County residents by promoting safe, healthy communities and environments. Your local health department works to keep people from getting sick and to protect them from health threats, assures the safety of the restaurant food we eat and the water we drink. Public Health responds to emerging health threats such as influenza, provides services to prevent family violence, and offers preventive care. We partner with other counties, state and federal government, non-profit organizations, and the private sector.
