John Ray Perkins

John Ray was born and raised in the heart of south Louisiana, a place he loves dearly and has no intention of ever leaving. He grew up in his dad’s wood-shop, helping build and replicate furniture. In high school he spent his summers working at his grandfather’s lumber company – St. Landry Lumber – where he helped people get materials to build and remodel their homes. After graduating high school, he attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor’s in General Studies. His consecration was in Communications and marketing. He has spent his adult life working for the Catholic Church, where he served the youth of the Church for 18 years in High School and Middle School Youth Ministry. He has also been a volunteer with Life Teen, and international Catholic Youth Ministry movement, serving as the local Area Contact and Parish Coach. His role with Life Teen is to reach out, support and train local Catholic Youth Ministers. Recently, he has moved out of Youth Ministry in to Adult Formation and Evangelization. Serving people for 20 years in different moments of their lives, could with his knowledge of construction and remodeling, he feels has uniquely equipped him to serve people with one of the biggest investments of their lives – buying and selling their house. He has spent the best years of his life with his bestfriend and bride, Alesha. They have four beautiful children, John Ray IV, Cecilia, Noah and Lucy. His family is his reason for taking on a 2nd career. He wants the best education for his children and is committed to providing for them.
