Julie Bockenstedt, PhD, LISW, LCSW started Grief Counseling & Therapeutic Services, LLC when she noticed a lack of specialized grief services in the Quad Cities. She recognizes the special needs of those who are grieving: “With every fiber of their being, a person in grief is struggling to just hang on. Their heart feels broken, they may worry that their loved one will be forgotten, they may be overwhelmed with sorrow and sadness. Grief is not a mental illness or pathology; it is a natural reaction to an unwanted event or circumstance.”
