NORTHVILLE – Located at the intersection of Northville’s Bridge and Main Streets sits the iconic Northville Five and Dime. The sight alone conjures memories of a time long ago, most likely because it is a stately piece of the past that has withstood the test of time since 1914. It is a continuously functioning piece of history that has welcomed customers for over a century. Owners Brian and Susan Correll realize that the structure's original, creaky wood floors, high tin ceilings, and vintage woodwork shelving cumulatively add to the store's unique charm. “At any time we have 12-15 varieties of fresh, homemade fudge, over 250 kinds of novelty and penny candy as well as reproduction tin toys, board games, puzzles with fun things from the past and present,” Northville’s Five and Dime tries to offer a bit of everything their customers local, seasonal and visiting may need or expect to find in a Five and Dime store. In addition there are camping supplies, cooking equipment, even local and Adirondack t-shirts and gifts.
