Description

Pace's Point Volunteer Fire Department

Welcome to Pace's Point Volunteer Fire & Rescue's.We are an all volunteer fire department located in Tallapoosa County on Lake Martin near Dadeville, AL. The area we serve is largely a rural, lakeside second-home/retirement community with approximately 1,100 plus homes. Our home owners are divided between full time residents and week-enders. We also have over 30 businesses including 2 churches, 2 marinas, 2 year-round camps and the Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base Recreation Area. We routinely aid 5 other departments that range from 7 to 15 miles from our primary station covering a population of over 22,000 persons. Our fire department was founded in 1976 and our Fire District was established in 1995. In November of 2010, due to an exemplary job by our volunteers, the Insurance Services Office (ISO) issued effective on June 1, 2011 a Public Protection Classification (PPC) rating of 4 for the ENTIRE District. See ISO RATING for further information. Pace's Point VFD is one of only 120 fire departments within the State of Alabama with a Class 4 rating. Only 63 departments have a lower rating of 3 or 2 while NO Alabama departments have a class 1 rating. The Class 4 rating was renewed in September 2016 after another review. PPVFD now consists of three (3) fire stations situated along County Road 34. These stations combined house 3 engines, 3 tankers, 2 rescues and an air/generator truck.
