Every day when I awake, it takes me a few minutes to realize that my new reality is not a dream. Our industry has been hijacked and a monopoly was created right under our collective noses. As a vape shop owner, I feel for everyone who has been and will be affected by this statewide war that was declared on all of us! Shame on those who were motivated by greed and corruption to the point of willing to hurt hard working Hoosiers. Shame on the lawmakers who, under the guise of consumer protection, manipulated the system to create a monopoly for the benefit of the chosen few, with complete disregard for the well-being of the masses! We have all been strong-armed and cornered by people who have absolutely no integrity! For those of us who are in this for the right reasons, we fully support common sense regulations such as childproof bottles, prohibited sales to minors, and safe and clean production of quality products. We have self-regulated from the beginning and are committed to fostering a safe environment for the vaping community. July 1st 2016 is a date that will forever be engrained in my mind. Mere words cannot begin to express the pain I feel for all the vape shop owners and e-liquid manufacturers who were bullied into closing their businesses for good or had to relocate to another state. The damage is already done, and nothing will ever remedy the ills of a bill that has murdered small businesses across the state of Indiana. Even if the law was to be reversed today, it would not change a damn thing for those who lost a lot of money and have already closed. This fight has been physically draining, financially costly, and has taken all of us on an emotional rollercoaster. That being said, I have no plans of laying down arms and surrendering the fight! I am going to continue fighting with everything I have, until my last breath, and until my last penny! As I celebrated Independence Day on July 4th, I was saddened by the notion of the utter corruption and cronyism which led to the creation of a monopoly that only benefits the perpetrators of this unjust law, while causing unimaginable hardship for so many small business owners. On that day in particular, I was acutely aware that what has taken place is the antithesis of the American dream. I have taken it upon myself to do something about it. Starting August 1st, Don’s Vapor will be know as United Vapers of America and everything we carry as a private social club will be sold to members only, at cost - that’s right, we will be running a vape shop without profit! We are now a non profit social and private vape club. I cannot, with good conscience do business with the greedy people who have contributed to killing the e-liquid industry. Consequently, this is my way of fighting back. We will give people a way to at least save money on hardware because e-liquid is about to become incredibly expensive for every vaper in Indiana; not to mention the lack of variety. Through these efforts, we hope that we can earn your support and not only provide hardware at cost to our fellow vapers, but also send a very loud and clear message to the industry cronies who have taken the vaping community hostage. In the words of Thomas Jefferson, if a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so... like our page, share with your friends to spread the word! Thank you
