Plastic Surgery Residency - University of Mississippi Medical Center

Welcome to Department of Surgery's plastic and reconstructive residency program. As program director of both the integrated and independent track residency programs, I thank you for your interest in our training programs. It is an exciting time of growth and expansion in our division, and I am proud to be part of this. Our division was founded in 1955 by James ‘Jimmy’ Hendrix, and we have a long history with graduates spanning more than five decades. Many of these graduates have gone on to devote their entire careers to providing care to a large underserved population here in Mississippi. Both of our training tracts (independent and integrated) are fully ACGME accredited. We currently have six integrated plastic surgery positions for a six-year tract and three independent residents for a three-year tract. Our residents come from all over the country and have successfully matched through ERAS or the SF Match. Click here for detailed information regarding the application process.
